Me & Roboco

The first full trailer is here for the Me & Roboco anime, based on the Shonen Jump manga by Shuhei Miyazaki. We previously got a look at the staff members behind the scenes, and now we know who’s voicing who in the main cast, which has comedian Shun Matsuo in the lead as Roboco.

Other cast members, pictured below, include:

  • Minami Tsuda (Yui Funami in YuruYuri) as Bondo Taira
  • Ryotaro Okiayu (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach) as Gachi Gorilla
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi (Makoto Suzuki in Tokyo Revengers) as Motsuo Kaneo
  • M.A.O. (Pecorine in Princess Connect! Re:Dive) as Madoka
  • Sae Hiratsuka as Meiko
  • Kotono Mitsuishi (Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion) as Bondo’s Mother

The theme song will be the appropriately named “lol” by GANG PARADE, and you can hear a sample in the trailer below.

The Me & Roboco anime premieres in Japan on December 4.

As previously reported, Akitaro Daichi (Tonkatsu DJ Agetaro) is at the helm at anime production house Gallop (Initial DKodocha). Additional key staff members include assistant director Michihiro Sato, series composition writer Sayuro Ooba (FIRST LOVE MONSTER) and character designer Yuko Ebara (animation director for Delicious Party Pretty Cure), among others.

The TV anime adaptation of Shuhei Miyazaki’s Me & Roboco manga is scheduled to be released in winter. The manga has been running in the pages of Jump since July 2020 with VIZ Media publishing it in the English version of the app. Here’s the official synopsis of the first volume:

Now that Bondo has his very own OrderMaid, it’s time to show her off to his friends. But will they be able to handle Roboco? And what exactly is the secret behind this special robot?!
