THIS WEEK, Yeti announced its first all-plastic drinkware product called the Yonder, and while some diehard fans are barking at the fact the water bottle isn’t in line with the brand’s traditional metal design, we see a ton of potential in how this bottle can be used.
First off, Yeti tumblers need not go anywhere. They’re still the crème de la crème for a wide range of users, especially coffee lovers and whiskey lovers. (Side note: If you’re looking for an easy men’s gift idea, the 10 oz Lowball mug is currently on sale for 25% off). Fans of the 26 oz Water Bottle can stay put too. The bottle promises long-term durability and easy drinking thanks to the metal design and straw cap. However with all of these great products considered, the Yonder water bottle seems to fit a niche Yeti could explore further—and that’s drinkware for the everyday commuter.

It’s true Yeti is changing things up by not going the all-metal route, but the brand asserts the Yonder went through the exact same drop, freeze, and impact tests all Rambler bottles do. This would essentially put the Yonder in league of its own, especially when you consider the water bottle is barely over half a pound in weight. The Yonder ultimately reminds us of is a slimmer and lighter Nalgene that’s more ideal for tossing in your work bag and carrying around the office.

The level of customization on the Yonder is another reason why we’re so bullish on the product. You can choose between a 750mL and 1000mL design and select four different colors from each. So if you’re looking for your next go-to water bottle, or you’re searching for gifts to pick up before Black Friday, then look no further. To sweeten the deal, the Yonder can be applied to Yeti’s early Black Friday promotion where if you spend $200, you receive two 10 oz Lowball mugs for free. How’s that for a grand entry?
