Viewers of Netflix’s new show Wednesday probably expected the titular character’s deadpan demeanor, along with the overall grim atmosphere that’s cast over the entire show, and perhaps even the overarching mystery element (it is a bingeable Netflix show, after all). One thing people may not have expected? A love triangle.
One of the first characters we meet in the show is Xavier, a gloomy student at Nevermore Academy who seems to have a vested interest in Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). The pair are actually acquaintances from childhood, and Wednesday notably saved his life once. She gives him the cold shoulder, though, now that they’re in high school together. What else would she do? Still, Xavier finds himself drawn to Wednesday, even asking her to the school dance (she, of course, says no).
As the season continues, Wednesday includes Xavier in her investigation into a deadly monster stalking the school. But as the two begin to grow closer, Wednesday finds herself suspecting Xavier and the two are left at odds again. At the end of the Season 1, though, his name is cleared when she discovers who the monster actually is; that means anyone looking for a Xavier and Wednesday romance could potentially see that in the future. If you’d rather see the eldest Addams child stay single, we could at least see them become better friends. If Wednesday is going to solve another mystery at Nevermore, she’ll need all the help she can get.
While we wait to hear news about Wednesday Season 2, get to know the actor who plays Xavier.
Who Plays Xavier in Wednesday?
Percy Hynes White plays Xavier in Wednesday. The 21-year-old actor has been in the business since 2008, according to IMDb. His most well-known role was in 2017’s The Gifted, a short-lived, FOX show about an institute for mutants that was theoretically connected to the FOX X-Men universe. The show only lasted for two seasons, and is one of the lesser known non-MCU Marvel properties. But it surely made it easy for White to fall back into the role of a superpowered kid no one understands, as he plays in Wednesday.
In addition to Wednesday and The Gifted, White has also had stints in various shows and movies like 2019’s The Twilight Zone, 11.23.63, and Murdoch Mysteries.
If Wednesday manages to snag a Season 2 renewal, it’s likely we’ll see White back as Xavier sometime in the near future.
